PT Maxindo Karya Anugerah, a legendary snack manufacturer based in Bogor, officially opened its third factory in Kendal Special Economic Zone (Kendal SEZ) in Central Java. Founded in 1977, the company built the factory with an initial investment of Rp300 billion.
The new factory is projected to have a significant economic impact on the Kendal community. PT Maxindo aims to hire approximately 1,000 workers to operate its newest production facility.
Gareth Suryo Wijoyokartono, Director of PT Maxindo Karya Anugerah, explained that the expansion into Kendal marks a new milestone following the company’s successful operation of two factories in Bogor. This third factory is designed to boost production capacity to meet global market demand.
As an export-oriented company committed to using 100% raw materials sourced from Indonesian farmers, PT Maxindo prioritizes maintaining its supply chain and product quality. To ensure the availability of tuber raw materials, the company has launched a direct partnership program with local farmers by distributing seeds.
PT Maxindo is serious about this initiative, which is further strengthened by a partnership with Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). This collaboration aims to develop high-quality tuber seeds and provide partner farmers with regular cultivation guidance. This ensures that the farmers' harvests meet strict international standards.
PT Maxindo’s commitment to processing Indonesia’s natural resources has proven successful in breaking into the global market. These processed tuber products, created by Indonesian innovators, have been marketed to approximately 30 countries across four continents.
Maxindo exports to major countries such as the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, China, and Japan, as well as to Middle Eastern countries like Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. With its factory now operational in Kendal SEZ, PT Maxindo is poised to solidify its position in the international snack market and improve the livelihoods of local farmers.
PT Maxindo's presence in the Kendal SEZ further
complements and strengthens the region's industrial ecosystem, particularly in
the export-oriented food and beverage sector. As an export-oriented
corporation, PT Maxindo adds to the Kendal Special Economic Zone's product
diversification and creates a positive multiplier effect for the local economy.
