Special Economic Zone - Kendal Industrial Park was agreed to set partnership with President University (located in Cikarang, West Java) on March 2020. As a new Special Economic Zone in Indonesia, the university saw potentials from this Indonesia Industrial Park for their graduates in the future. Based on the university website, the agreement was signed at Kendal Industrial Park’s One-Stop Service Office in Kendal, Central Java. There were Rector of President University, Jony Oktavian Haryanto, and Director of Kendal Industrial Park, Didik Purbadi as the representatives for both parties.
Jony from President University said that the deals have aim to improve the educational quality at his university and prepare their graduates in the job markets. Therefore, the partnership was created on internship program for both students and lecturers. When the manufacture companies and other businesses set their productions at KIP, the university has huge opportunity to send their final year students and lecturers to learn on the companies which are suitable for them. As the industry itself, it is an advantage for them because they will have skillful resources to help them on their productions.
Another collaboration done by both parties was the usage of factories in Kendal Industrial Park area. As new industrial park in Indonesia, KIP is willing to let the students and lecturers to treat the area as living laboratory with the latest technologies, run by the companies. Therefore, the companies should be able to share their companies work as a part of sharing knowledge within university and industry.
This private
university was established in 2001 with four faculties including 16
undergraduate programs and 2 post graduate programs. With A accreditation and
international curriculum, the university aims to seek more international
opportunity for educational learning, students, lecturers, and job
opportunities for their graduates. Signing a MoU with industrial park in
Indonesia like KIP helps the university to get more chances for their students
to seeking for experiences before they are going to the real job markets after
graduation.
