Industrial Area Attracts Rp 300 T Investment
February 01, 2018
Industrial estates are estimated to attract investment of around Rp 300 trillion in 2018. If all this time the incentives are only given to industry, the government now plans to provide incentives to industrial estate developers. The incentives that are being discussed are the ease of land acquisition and the guarantee of raw water supply.
The most investment will be planted in 13 industrial areas (KI) which become government programs, which are worth Rp. 250.7 trillion. The 13 KI are Morowali (Central Sulawesi), Special Economic Zone (KEK) Sei Mangkei (North Sumatra), Bantaeng (South Sulawesi), JIIPE Gresik (East Java), Kendal (Central Java), Wilmar Serang (Banten), Dumai (Riau), Konawe (Southeast Sulawesi), KEK Palu (Central Sulawesi), KEK Bitung (North Sulawesi), Ketapang (West Kalimantan), KEK Lhokseumawe (Aceh), and Tanjung Buton (Riau). While the rest will be invested in other industrial areas.
Acting Director General of Industrial Regional Development (PPI) of the Ministry of Industry I Gusti Putu Suryawirawan said, the development of KI requires non-fiscal incentives that can accelerate and facilitate industrial investment in this region.
His party is currently working on incentives for KI managers, considering that so far the government has focused on providing incentives for industry only. In fact, the area manager also needs the ease of procurement of land and raw water, which is a vital need.
"Incentives must be reviewed, now incentives for KI managers still do not exist. So, later for the industry also feels the difference, for example there is the ease of land and raw water. There must be a difference between industries that are outside the region and those inside, not just the same, "Putu said at a seminar on the Evaluation of Post-PP Industrial Area Development No 142 of 2015 organized by IPR and Ministry of Industry, Jakarta, Wednesday (31/1).
