Indonesia has a relatively high level of literacy where 92.8% of its population over the age of 15 are able to read and write.


Central Java has many state universities, polytechnics and vocational training institutes.

  • For managerial and supervisory staff:
    274 universities and 20 polytechnics (about 103,000 graduates per year) providing an excellent source of managerial and supervisory staff;

  • For young and skilled labour force:
    1,184 vocational training institutes (about 150,000 graduates per year). It provides readily-available young and skilled labor force.
